BRANDED TITLES

SALVAGED TITLE VALUES: Previously totalled vehicles in the State of California that have been reconstructed should have been branded with “salvaged” titles upon reregistration with the California Deaprtment of the Department of Motor Vehicles. Given the resurrected  salvage titled status these vehicles can have depreciated retail/wholeasle market equity of 1/3 to 1/2 "if” the repairs were to industry standard. Sub standard reapirs will only diminish the value more.

Unfortunately it has been this appraisers experience that many, but not all, reconstructed salvaged vehicles have repairs that were less than adequate, mostly due to cost constraints in the form of repairing versus replacing parts (bondo), using less-trained employees at lower pay scales and potentially less overhead as it computes to the rebuilding process. With this in mind we look at the entire vehicle and its recorded history to help determine it’s true “overall” condition in relation to  fair market value.

LEMON LAW BUY-BACK: Determine proper market adjustments for vehicles that have been branded as a “lemon buy-backs” by the California Department of Motor Vehicles and then reintroduced into the market for sale.
